Hannover – A powerful industrial metropolis
The industrial energy in Hannover and its entire surrounding area is truly impressive. The infrastructure is unrivaled. Industry and services, trade fairs and congresses, a large diversity of media, universities and further education facilities are all representative of this powerful industrial region.

Various companies have their headquarters in Hannover such as the automotive suppliers Continental AG, Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge (ie. commercial vehicles), the vehicle system manufacturer WABCO, the construction equipment manufacturer Komatsu Hanomag, the Varta-Batteriewerk (ie. battery manufacturer) and the abrasives manufacturer VSM.

The company MTU – with its headquarters in north Hannover in Langenhagen – is the worlds leading company in the field of maintenance for commercial aircraft engines. The Pelikan and Geha plants are two of the worlds most well known manufacturers of stationary and presentation technology in Hannover. The food industry is represented by Bahlsen, Harry-Brot and the breweries Gilde Brauerei und Herrenhäuser Brauerei, among others.

Numerous banks, financial services and insurance companies such as Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (NORD/LB), ING-DiBa, GE Money Bank (former Allbank AG), Bankhaus Hallbaum, AWD, VHV, KKH, LBS, Hannover Rück, Hannoversche Leben, HDI Versicherungen and Talanx count among the service companies of Hannover.

In addition there is the tourism company TUI as well as the TUI subsidiary TUI Deutschland, 1-2-Fly and Robinson. The airline TUIfly has its head office at Hannover airport. The public utilities of Hannover supply the city and surrounding areas with electricity, gas, water and heating. Additional power companies are BEB, E.ON Energie AG and ExxonMobil. The new economy is represented by the internet tire dealer Delicom, among others.
