Ivar Brandt

Ivar Brandt has been active within the development and application of multiphase flow technology for more than 30 years.

He graduated from NTH (now NTNU), Trondheim, Norway in 1974. After serving the navy for 14 months he worked with the Norwegian Ship Research Institute (NSFI) for one year and then SINTEF from 1976 to 1996 – both located in Trondheim.

While in SINTEF the most important activity was the partaking in the design and operation of the large scale SINTEF Multiphase Flow Laboratory in the period 1978 – 1995. Brandt was manager of this laboratory from 1985 to 1995. He was also project manager for the OLGA® development in co-operation with IFE from 1985 to 1992. He spent one year with ENI in Milan, Italy, as visiting research engineer in 1995-96.

He was also a member of the Overseas Advisory Committee of the BHRG Conference on Multiphase Technology for several years.

He started working with the SPTGroup in 1997 as a Principal Consultant.

At present his main responsibility is the flow consultant business within the SPTGroup, which is performed from 7 regional offices, world-wide. This includes the SPTGroup world-wide training program for “Flow Assurance with OLGA”, which has been his responsibility since 2000.
